Where is Takayama?
Takayama, located in the northern mountains of the Gifu Prefecture, is a beautiful countryside town and one of the most popular tourist destinations in Japan. It is about 1 hr to the World Heritage Shirakawa-Go, 1.5 hours to Kanazawa, and an hour to Toyama.
What can we do while we are in Takayama?
While in the Takayama area, you are free to roam around and explore the area on your own.
Suggestions: Self-guided tour around Takayama, self-guided tour around Hida Furukawa, or participating in one of our guided tours in Hida Furukawa
(True Shinto Experience on March 24 and/or
Satoyama Dining on March 25).
For those wanting to visit the World Heritage Shirakawa-go we highly recommend you check the bus and train schedules beforehand to ensure that you can get to the hotel on March 24, or get to the bus on March 25.

Meeting/drop off place in Shinjuku to be determined and will be communicated to the participants prior to the tour date.

After we receive your application and deposit, we will send you a confirmation e-mail and detailed information regarding meeting place, weather, and other logistical information.
